Blushing For Blush!

by Karis Dodd

You know we love an all greyscale outfit here, but Spring makes us feel the need to invite in a little bit of color! In past years, we've welcomes blue into the store for it's pseudo-neutral ability to pair well with nearly everything. This spring, however, we've welcomed a light blush hue to our racks. We've been seeing pale pink and blush everywhere for a while now - from our favorite bloggers to independent brand collections to the runway - and it's an especially fitting color for spring! For those (like us) who fear color, here are some cases for adapting this muted hue into your wardrobe.

1. Blush is the perfect color for when you don't want to wear all white. Spring means that we can welcome white back into our wardrobes, especially when it's just way too hot for an all-black ensemble! Wearing all black in warm weather is a problem that we here at Viscera run into regularly, so wearing something lighter is an easy way to keep cool. An all white ensemble can be just as chic as an all black one, but sometimes you want to change it up! Try pairing our Crinkle Fabric Bell Sleeve Top in sand with white jeans and sandals for an unmistakably spring-y look!

2. Blush, and other lighter shades, are great for playing around with layering! Sometimes you don't want to wear something that's outright sheer, but you still kinda want to show off that cute bralette you just bought in a subtle way. A light blush top made with a thin, breathable fabric will keep you feeling stylish and cool (both literally and figuratively) and allow you to layer with a cute bralette, undershirt, or camisole. We are absolutely obsessed with Lacson Ravello's Frederica Top for its amazing gathered sleeves and sheer striped fabric. It's 100% cotton, super breathable, and the perfect piece for spring!

3. It goes with just about anything! Blush is basically a neutral, especially if you go with a piece that's nearly tan (like the blush pieces we carry in store). Pair with black, grey, and white pieces for a nearly greyscale look, blue pieces for a very "Pantone color of the year" ensemble, or red and burgundy pieces for a monochromatic palette. We love our V Neck French Terry Mini Dress for it's versatility because it can actually be worn as a dress or an oversized sweatshirt with pants, leggings, or shorts!
